2 8 - a u g u s t - 2 0 0 6 : a little bit more book news - the distributors are deliberately causing many problems in an effort to make my publisher cancel the reprint of my alphabet - among various silly demands it must now be sealed inside an outer cover (brown paper bag?) to hide the pornographic cover : (
rubber doll still hasn't been started - will it ever be published?

2 1 - j u l y - 2 0 0 6 : a little bit of book news - a second reprint of my alphabet is forthcoming - this edition will come in a luxurious red 'velvet' cover and also include an extra eight page colouring-in-book section - i guess released the same time as rubber doll (when? when?) - rubber doll will come in a black 'rubber' (actually a matt vinyl which can be embossed) slipcover - this likely to be a limited run of 500 however - normal copies will be normal paperbacks

0 7 - j u l y - 2 0 0 6 : whilst spying on baby art referral links i found this article on a peruvian magazine style web site - from what i can make out of the babel fish translation it seems intelligently written and complimentary - so altho, as far as i remember, i was never asked permission about the use of my images etc, i'm not displeased

2 6 - j u n e - 2 0 0 6 : umbigo magazine arrives very quickly from portugal and (finally!) think again magazine arrives very slowly from the czech republic - covers duly uploaded - also the text from the latter on the interviews page (a tacky article but it's rare for anyone to write about me)

2 0 - j u n e - 2 0 0 6 : another european magazine cover - this one issue 17 of umbigo ( = navel !), an art magazine from portugal - out this month - also in this issue: damien hirst, sopor aeternus, ani difranco, pedro soenen, mae west ...and other good things - all in portugese sadly! (if you don't understand portugese) - web site

1 9 - j u n e - 2 0 0 6 : as i had one empty square on the interviews page i decided to fill it with an unpublished interview from 2003 - slightly wordy but one of my best (kudos to a good interviewer) - you'll learn more about trevor brown in this than any other interview i did, if any of you could actually be bothered to read it

1 6 - j u n e - 2 0 0 6 : an eye-catching trevor brown latex catsuit designed, produced and modelled by rogerio alves (aka bordello), a regular performer at torture garden in london - the revolutionary process of printing colour images onto latex founded by rogerio himself - but before all you boys and girls get too excited about the prospect of squeezing your own lithe sticky little bods into one of these fabulous outfits, i'm sorry to say this was a one-off - discover more of the world of bordello here

0 1 - j u n e - 2 0 0 6 : just discovered this on the net - cover of think again issue 23 - "prague's (almost) bilingual city magazine" - one of a few magazines i contributed art for last year but never recieved a copy of (and naturally no payment)

3 1 - m a y - 2 0 0 6 : dear blog - a trevor brown update for you - work for my rubber doll book was completed at the beginning of the month - 36 paintings - all new (well, almost) - everything is now in the hands of my publisher editions treville - all work photographed, i guess the next stage is a meeting with the designers - a rubber cover being contemplated - there's been quite a few options for staging the rubber doll exhibition but i suspect it'll most likely be held at the same black womb-like gallery in tokyo used for the li'l miss sticky kiss exhibition - either at the end of this year or beginning of next? (depending how soon, or not, the book comes out)

already i'm busy on my next project: the babies book - this comprises of black and white line drawings of freak babies along with paintings of freak toys - i'm feeling pretty smug and pleased with myself having completed eight paintings for this during the past month - an unusual high state of production for me - altho the paintings are quite small (and therefore fairly affordable for young collectors when i come to sell them!) - this'll be a small book published independently - in france?...
