now) - a silver body pierce ring is planned as a bookmark

(january issue) has a half page plug for my rubber
doll exhibitions - not especially earth-shattering
news ...but gleaned snippets of info here that the normal
edition of my book will be 3800 yen and special rubber

some brighter news re trevor brown condoms - a guy at one
of the companies i sent the design to for quotes happened
to know my work as he sold my books at a previous company
he worked for - he liked the design and, after hearing about
my legal obstacles, offered to produce it himself as the
first in a new line of "artist's condoms" - more
details to follow, hopefully... |

news update:
rubber doll exhibition at subterraneans
in osaka running from 09 february to 04 march - i'll
be there the opening night
the normal edition of rubber doll
book supposedly out 10th january - and the limited
edition out some time later (???) - but i'm doubtful
the book will be ready in time for my tokyo exhibition
(it still hasn't been started yet after all
these months!) - not very good news for me and those
wanting to see/buy my art |

from the tokyo show but a higher profile event - most

i had the inspired idea of producing trevor brown condoms
as a promotional item for rubber doll
- but after wasting countless days preparing the artwork
(struggling with vector graphics i've never done before)
and writing to several companies in america (most of whom
never answered being happier to throw away several hundred
dollars worth of business rather than deal with someone
who isn't an american living in america so therefore must
be a terrorist?) today i finally discovered that it's actually
illegal to import condoms to japan - so, not wanting to
risk a two year prison sentence, i've disappointedly had
to abandon the idea : (
tho i'm feeling dejected already
i suppose 'the inevitable post card set' will still go ahead
- plus limited rubber doll exhibition posters
...tho, because of all the mail order complaints i recieved
doing posters before, i personally hope these sell out here

alphabet will come in three flavours: plum
red, sky blue and orange - the latter two spongey towel
covers (as li'l miss sticky kiss) and
limited to 100 copies each - as noted below, the book
now also coming in an outer slip cover as a glimpse
of doll nipples makes japanese parents kill their children
and turns all grown men into psychopedos, apparently? |

no one can be more impatient and fed up (polite euphemism
for something involving expletives) waiting for some rubber
doll action than me - but finally a vague schedule
pencilled up...
november: maybe
i reopen the baby art shop and start taking
pre-orders for the book - and, as much as i hate doing this
mail order stuff, i guess there'll be the inevitable post
card pack (plus surprise novelty item)
december: in time for christmas rubber doll
hopefully published (...or isn't?)
january: self-organised exhibition now provisionally
reserved at le deco (shibuya, tokyo) for
the middle of the month ...perhaps pushed back to the end?
february: possible exhibition in osaka at subterraneans?
- no other showings - negotiations with a new snob fashion
shop gallery in tokyo caused much of the rubber
doll delay ('negotiations' abruptly terminated
after waiting and wasting several weeks for them to lower
themselves to simply return a phone call)
march: i count my huge piles of money (pfft!)
the (due soon?) my alphabet reprint raised
in price from 2800 to 3500 yen, thanks to distributer aggravation |
