Those both look fantastic! I love Mari Shimizu’s dolls and she makes a nice pair with Makiko Sugawa.
Two interesting looking additions to this series. I’ll check them out. I like the format of this TH Art series, the colourful uniform sized hardbacks that remind me of children’s picture books. And most of the featured artists are good, especially Koyama Kenichi and Tama. There’s one by Kozue Kuroki almost ready for release which should be fun.
If only you were famous enough to be included in this series, Trevor : )
just come back from the treville exhibition – it was full of teen girls – guys no longer interested in art?! – i think these th books are quite (astutely?) girl-orientated – actually, i did think of offering them “toy box” – but the misses said it wouldn’t be their taste
Why wouldn’t they be interested? Not enough girls in bandages?! I would have thought that a project like Toy Box would be just up their creative alley.
the editor did in fact turn up at my/our toy box exhibition and, yeah, he was pretty interested (tho perhaps more in the hippiecoco stuff, ha!)
