…and we don’t care!

1) the parcel containing my two paintings for the viva lolita exhibition in london still “awaiting presentation to customs commissioner” - it took just one day to get from tokyo to coventry parcelforce, united kingdom, but has now been sitting in their depot ignored (?) for over a week! - express mail service, huh?!

2) originally the gallery asked if the parcel could be sent by dhl - but the japan office were not exactly very helpful - besides the heaps of bureaucratic nonsense and their assorted extortionate fees, adding any insurance value to the parcel was impossible - they required confirmation that the paintings were of said value - “like an invoice?” we asked - “no!” - “what then?” - “we don’t know, that is your problem not ours” (!) - presumably something from an outside authority like christies? - basically they wanted nothing to do with the parcel and the feeling given is that we were trying to pull a con trick on them

3) konomi ordered some things via uk “marks and spencer” internet shopping (she’s partial to their thick cotton schoolgirl tights that can’t be found in japan) to be delivered to my parents address in england - but of course unlike japan internet shopping when your stuff invariably arrives the next day, nothing was heard for weeks - then finally the internet tracking said “refused” - with no additional information as to what exactly that is supposed to mean - marks and spencer also wouldn’t clarify - but as a “gesture of goodwill” sent a replacement parcel (albeit missing a couple of items!)

so, what exactly do “workers” actually do in parcel depots??? - “put the kettle on charlie, time for another cuppa tea”

oH NO! I’m so sorry to hear this.. I hate when stuff like this happens. It’s so sad, it’s like they don’t care unless it pertains to them personally. How rude! I hope your wonderful paintings make to the exhibition in time!

P.s. I often wonder how much your paintings go for.. I hope to one day own one of your paintings.. if I ever could afford one. ♥
