lid closed on the toy box

final score: sold 12 unsold 8 – the unsold, if anyone interested, being: brains, butch, lora larva, love bombs, mister square, radioactive rabbit, snot ‘n’ shit and zelda – posters and pins sold out – but altho akatako is screaming at me to make more, the puzzles not quite so popular here (as i sorta suspected) – still some left over, which i think span are keeping for their shop

weather this time of the year is usually glorious but for much of the duration of toy box it’s been really lousy – sun finally came out today, the last day – so healthy streams of visitors finally (gothlolis and old perverts and my wife’s more “normal” customers) – right up till the very end when we was tearing it all down, one more girl came to view what was still left on the wall – a fan but had only just learnt about the exhibition from a fellow twitterer or something

the wall of pencil “roughs” had been disturbingly popular – particularly with the more obsessed fans, anxious to see “the process”? – i used to throw such embarrassing stuff away and only began saving my scribbles after the alice book – but i guess it might now become a mainstay of future trevor brown exhibitions…?

as usual i got no offers of work or anything from it – but my wife now has yaso magazine chasing her

and the girl who stole my heart this exhibition was rin-san – typically of course i am most obsessed over the girls who are most obsessed over me – but rin is an ever so small ever so slight waif of a girl straight out of a (future) trevor brown painting – she gave me a fan letter in japanese last saturday – but as my wife (my interpreter!) was busy noisily yapping nonstop with her friends we couldn’t do much more than stare at each other in duplicate dumbstruck awkwardness – she wrote a blog on the encounter in which she described my hesitance as perfectly befitting of trevor brown-ness and endeared me to her even more – she turned up again today to my delight – but maybe the novelty of meeting god has worn off for her now and she’s bored with me : P

also want to say thank you to the artist, a girl named akira, who gave me this – hand cut at microscopic scale!

ps – found her web site / blog – she goes under the name rain glass

I received my post cards this morning from akatako. They also included an iris button and akatako postcards as extras. My favorites are “snot n shit” and “radioactive rabbit”, but their all great. Didn’t get in time to order a puzzle, so I hope you do make more. I hope those extra pieces of art become part of Temple of Blasphemy 3. Looking forward to see what’s next for babyart. Best wishes!

I can see why Rin-san stole your heart. Can’t wait to see her in a painting!
“Mister Square” and “Brains” are probably my favorites although they’re all quite lovely. :)
