comix fix

a labyrinthian megalopolis – viral holocaust – genetic mutation – sinister corporations – zombies – guns – violence – action – horror – apocalypse – cyberpunk – a talking grizzly bear and a cute girl in bunny fur – i’m into it! – e-versions of this have been around years but i much prefer real books (and less amateur translations) – and what with every other ongoing manga i’ve enjoyed suddenly being cancelled(?) (mpd psycho, eden… screw you dark horse publications!) i’m happy to have something new to follow – unlike previous tsutomu nihei works, the faster and easier to grasp plot is less overwhelmed by and more befitting the dark extravagant art

I keep noticing your desire for translations in your blog and I have to ask: Have you really lived in Japan for ~17 years and have yet to perfect the language?

Didn’t know that EDEN had been cancelled, I’m really bummed about MPD Psycho being cancelled with only four volumes left. Just got IKIGAMI 4 and Biomega on friday and they’re they’re great. Been following your blog for over two years and it’s still the first site I go to every morning. Your work and site are awesome.

i don’t think dark horse have officially cancelled the titles – but it’s no secret sales have been poor – and they aren’t showing any sign of releasing any new volumes any time soon…

Yup always good, even if I wouldn`t say one could “follow” a nihei work ^^

Too bad you couldn’t get into Blame. It is a little rough in the beginning, but sort of picks up more around vol4-5, and the ending is worth getting to. (Needless to say tho, I consider it one my favorite manga, right up there with Ghost in the Shell.)

It’s weird how I keep coming back here – vsnares – blog – “relevant to my interests” bookmark, then later crystal castles (lol) – tb? – here – mentions of Nihei, Nishi Iori, censorship in Japan, and customs busts in the US. Just cool to find a blog where I want to read every post.

Anyway, keep up the blogging (not to mention the art), it’s a pleasure to read.
