haha! - i’d totally forgotten these - the top pic just posted on a livejournal by who must be the most chic girl on the planet - the shirt several years old and “official” (!) - it was made by mondo bizzarro (and probably barely sold at all) - while (unsuccessfully) searching thru old archive cds for my own photos of that shirt, i found the bottom pic - another (”official”) t-shirt put out long before even the mondo bizarro shirts - made by a small japanese label, friends of david tibet i was also friends with

does having an official plastic bag from mondo bizarro with the madonna on it count as being a “most chic girl(woman) on the planet” ?
btw mailed your stuff today
hmmm, moderately cool i s’pose, as i don’t think i’ve seen myself
also re mondo bizzarro history - i wonder how much cool factor or controversy mileage i can get from scanning my love letters from a (very pretty) 9 year old fangirl - sigh! those were the days! i used to be liked!
We still like you
However I’m not a 9-year old girl (thank god) rather a 29 year old, bearded, tattoed, 200 cm, pissed off-looking guy..
Sorry if I dissapointed you, I’m still gonna buy one of the Alice-paintings later on
Weird serendipity, I just stumbled across an ad for these shirts last night when I was reading an old issue of Panic magazine that I pulled out of a box that had one of your paintings on the cover. I thought it would be very cool to have one of these!
hey Trevor…..we’ve been fans since ages….. glad the CC issue had some sort of ending… one of our writers summed it up after their (bad) show in Berlin….

hope you are well these days….
best,

(atari teenage riot)
thanks for dropping in and saying hello mr empire! - a nice surprise - the review is very funny (or should that be; very sad!) - how long will they last? - as long as there’s 17 year old (brainwashable) brats in the world - ie pretty much indefinitely
Hahah! You just made my day. Kisses.
I WANT ONE OF THOSE T SHIRTS SO BAD.
Like at first when i heard, i was like poor CC, BUT like tbh they shouldnt take credit for it. really un-creative.
the extremes people go to be un-conventional lol.
belated thx for the pic gala - i kinda guessed you’d discover it here sooner or later (and most likely the former) - the shirt looks well loved (ie overdue to be thrown out!)
Some weeks ago I went to Mondobizzaro gallery for the (amazing) exposition of Yamamoto Takato.
Many months ago, when I informed Mr.Papa of the whole CC issue ,he was unaware of it.
The shirts probably didn’t sell very well because,as far as I know, there was no M size ,not all your supporters are 200 cm tall as the guy above
Hi TB,
Been away on business… monkey business, that is! >.<
Anyway, here is another photo of that MB T-shirt from my BabyArt archives. Sorry for the low res, but it was a thumbnail.

BTW, here are two other MB shirts that were released with the Madonna shirt. My files of these shirts are dated July 2003.

Oh yeah, we mustn’t forget you had your own private label!

Hehe.
the label was for lil miss sticky kiss shirts made by baby doll in japan - another very poor-seller (too expensive for one thing!)
a t-shirt featuring the tattooed dollhead was actually the best-selling tb design - or, at least, i probably got more money in royalties from that than crystal castles coughed up
Alec Empire is just upset because he asked Crystal Castles for a remix and the band didn’t get back to him. This is from the Crystal Castles inbox, which I take care of when the band tours:
“this is gavin from alec empire’s office in berlin. i was recently given your email my chris at last gang; indeed, you have probably already seen the message i sent. the idea of CC and alec doing some kind of remix swap has been floating around for some time through merok and eventually last gang and i’d like to try and get some better idea of whether or not this would be possible… alec would very much like crystal castles to remix this, a favour he is more than willing to return for the guys. alec is a big fan of their sound and has often mentioned them in interviews recently when asked about some of his favourite musicians these days.”
All the best Trevor,
Andy
